Nagpur, India- The Sakkardara Police have registered a case against three individuals, including a Congress leader and a social media channel operator, following a complaint by Pyare Zia Khan, president of the Hazrat Baba Tajuddin Trust and an entrepreneur. Khan alleges that he was asked to pay Rs 1 crore to stop defamatory propaganda against him on social media.
Khan, who has been serving as the president of Tajbagh Trust since June 2021, reported that significant construction, beautification projects, and removing illegal encroachments were undertaken at the Tajbagh Dargah premises during his tenure. For the past two months, Shakir Raza Khan, who runs YouTube and Facebook channels, has been posting videos to tarnish Khan’s reputation.
On June 13, Shakir uploaded an interview with Congress leader Mohammad Wasim, suggesting legal action against Khan. The following day, Khan received a message and a WhatsApp call from Shakir and Wasim, demanding Rs 1 crore. They claimed to have evidence of unaudited hospital construction at Tajbagh. They threatened to release a total of five videos, with only two published so far, unless the ransom was paid.
