Nagpur, India: A tragic accident in the Hudkeshwar area of Nagpur resulted in the death of a 64-year-old man and left his wife seriously injured. The incident occurred on January 15, 2025, around 1:30 PM, when Morashwar Gavande, aged 64, was traveling with his 55-year-old wife, Saila Gavande, in their Maruti Pleasure car near Jyoti School in Gadge Nagar.

The couple was heading towards Mhalgi Nagar Chowk when a speeding container truck, driven by 24-year-old Vikas Kumar Ramcharan Gautam, collided with their vehicle from behind. The truck, registered MH 40 WY 9627, was being driven recklessly by Gautam. Morashwar Gavande, was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead by doctors shortly after.

Saila Gavande, his wife, sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment.

The accident was reported by Morashwar Gavande's son, Mareshwar Gavande, who filed a complaint with the Hudkeshwar police. The police have registered a case against the truck driver under Sections 106(1), 281, and 184 of the Indian Penal Code for reckless driving and causing death by negligence. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
