Red-Flagging Traffic Jams: The Daily Struggle for Nagpurians

Nagpur's Daily Traffic Woes: Potholes, Unfinished Roads, and Chaos

If you've ever traveled through Nagpur during rush hours, you know the struggle. But lately, it's been more than just slow-moving traffic—it's become a real headache.

Nagpur , India : Take the roads in West Nagpur, from LAD Square to VNIT Square, up to Shraddhanand Peth Square and towards Mate Chowk to Ambazari for Hingna. It's a mess. Cars creep along, horns blare non-stop, and traffic signals are blocked, causing jams on both sides. Even the police have a hard time keeping things in check.

One big reason for all this chaos is how the roads are being handled. About six months ago, they paved a nice new road. Then they dug it up for drainage pipes, rushed to fill it back, and slapped on some tar. Now, it's all lumpy with dangerous potholes, making it a nightmare for anyone on two wheels.

And it's not just the bumps. The stretch between LAD Square and VNIT Square is poorly lit, making it risky for bikers at night. Plus, with the Ambazari route closed, everyone's forced onto this already packed road, turning it into a total nightmare.

Even after they laid down concrete near VNIT Square to Bajaj Nagar Square, they forgot to finish the sidewalks. So, during the week, drivers are swerving to avoid holes while traffic piles up from all sides. People jumping signals and driving the wrong way only make things worse.

How much longer will this go on? Nagpurians are hoping the authorities step in soon to fix these issues once and for all.
