Nagpur, India: Nagpur is already experiencing hot weather conditions. As of this morning, the temperature stands at 31°C (89°F) with hazy sunshine. The upcoming days are expected to be even hotter, with March 12 and 13 forecasted to reach 40°C (104°F), posing significant risks of heat-related illnesses such as dehydration and heatstroke.

Temperatures will remain high for the following days, with March 14 also expected to touch 40°C, urging residents to limit outdoor activities. From March 15 to 17, the temperature will hover between 37°C and 39°C (99°F to 100°F), keeping the region in prolonged hot conditions.

Authorities are urging people to take all necessary precautions to stay safe during this period. Residents are advised to remain indoors during peak hours, drink sufficient water, and avoid direct exposure to the sun to prevent health complications.

A heatwave is set to grip Chandrapur on March 12 and 13, prompting District Collector Vinay Gouda GC to issue an advisory urging residents to take necessary precautions. The soaring temperatures pose health risks, particularly for outdoor workers, children, and the elderly.

To minimise the impact of the heatwave, residents have been advised to avoid strenuous physical activities between 12 noon and 4 pm, when temperatures are at their peak. Staying hydrated is crucial, and people are urged to drink plenty of water while avoiding alcohol, tea, coffee, and carbonated beverages, as these can contribute to dehydration.

Those venturing outdoors are encouraged to wear caps or carry umbrellas for protection against the harsh sun. Additionally, people should ensure that children and pets are not left in parked vehicles or enclosed spaces, as extreme heat can be life-threatening. While cooking, proper ventilation should be maintained by keeping doors and windows open to prevent heat accumulation indoors.
