Nagpur, India - In the wake of a tragic incident on February 25 and Rejection of Anticipatory Bail by the Honorable High Court, Ritika Dinesh Malu has surrendered to authorities. Malu allegedly drove a speeding Mercedes while under the influence of alcohol, resulting in the deaths of Mohammad Hussain Gulam Mustafa, 34, from Mominpura, and Mohammad Atif, 32, from Jafar Nagar.
Initially, Malu faced charges under Section 304(a) of the IPC and Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act—both bailable offenses—and was granted bail by the JMFC court. However, after a blood sample confirmed her intoxication, police upgraded the charges to include Section 304 of the IPC.
