Nagpur, India: RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, addressing the annual Vijayadasahmi rally in Nagpur on Saturday, emphasized that India has gained significant strength and global respect in recent years but warned of emerging conspiracies aimed at testing the country's resolve.
He expressed concerns about a growing narrative in Bangladesh portraying India as a threat, suggesting that Bangladesh should align with Pakistan for protection. Bhagwat questioned who was responsible for spreading this narrative and highlighted that Bangladesh had recently experienced significant political upheaval.
"India has become stronger and more respected globally with increased credibility. However, forces are trying to destabilize the country," said Bhagwat. He stressed that the firmness of national character is crucial for triumph in both favourable and challenging situations.
Bhagwat also commented on the ongoing Hamas-Israel war, noting the concern over how far the conflict might spread. He praised the peaceful conduct of the recent assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, attributing this to the cooperation of the people, government, and administration.
In his address, Bhagwat called for unity among Hindus, warning that weakness invites atrocities. He pointed out the dangers faced by minorities in Bangladesh, including Hindus, and urged them to organize and defend themselves. He condemned what he described as a "fundamentalist nature" in the country and called for greater vigilance.
Bhagwat also criticized the rise of divisiveness in Indian politics, stating that in a multi-party democracy, selfish interests are often placed above national pride and integrity. He referred to movements like "wokeism" and "cultural Marxism" as enemies of cultural traditions.
The RSS chief concluded his speech by condemning the recent rape-murder case in Kolkata, calling it shameful and accusing certain factions of attempting to protect the criminals involved. He warned that the nexus between crime, politics, and toxic culture is eroding society and called for immediate action to address it.
