Nagpur, India: The Regional Transport Office (RTO) has uncovered serious violations involving a bus recently involved in an accident. Investigations revealed that the bus lacked a valid permit, a Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate, and had unpaid road tax. In a surprising turn of events, the owner attempted to secure an online permit after the incident, but RTO officials blocked the attempt.
The accident occurred on the morning of November 26, at around 9 a.m. The bus, with registration number MH 40 Y 7350 and owned by Vaibhav Kakade, was carrying 54 students, a teacher, and two assistants from Saraswati Vidyalaya on a field trip. Upon receiving the report, Nagpur Rural RTO officer Vijay Chavan promptly dispatched an air squad to the accident site.
Chavan confirmed that although the bus was equipped with a speed governor, it lacked critical documents, including a valid permit, road tax receipt, and a Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate. Additionally, its fitness certificate is set to expire on December 5. “The accident happened around 10 a.m., and by 12:10 p.m., the bus owner attempted to secure an online permit. However, the officials vigilance prevented the attempt,” Chavan stated.
