Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s invitation to visit India, and preparations for the visit are underway. This was confirmed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during a conference called “Russia and India: Toward a New Bilateral Agenda.”  

Lavrov said that arrangements are being made for Putin’s visit. He also mentioned that PM Modi had invited Putin when he visited Russia in July 2024. Modi’s visit to Russia last year was his first in almost five years. Before that, he had visited Vladivostok in 2019 for an economic meeting.  

Lavrov added that since Modi visited Russia after his re-election, it is now Russia’s turn to visit India. However, the exact dates of Putin’s visit have not been announced yet.
