Sachin Y. Shende, a native of Nagpur, is all set to take charge as the Regional Director of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in Nagpur. With his appointment scheduled for July 17, Shende brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise in both IT and Non-IT projects of national significance.

An alumnus of the University of Florida, USA, where he completed his MBA, Shende also holds a BE (Computers) degree from VNIT, Nagpur. His schooling was at Saraswati Vidyalaya, Shankar Nagar, Nagpur. Having spent over 24 years in the RBI, Shende has played a vital role in successfully delivering crucial projects such as Payment Systems 24×365 (NEFT & RTGS), Data Centers, Infrastructure, and Cyber Security, among others.

Additionally, Shende has been instrumental in the transformation of a wholly-owned subsidiary of RBI. His strategic direction and execution of initiatives, including institutionalization, organizational restructuring, and culture strengthening, have led to exemplary services for nationwide users. The Nagpur Office of the Reserve Bank of India, established in 1956, is its second office in Maharashtra. It has jurisdiction over the Vidarbha and Marathwada regions of the state and also handles various functions for the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
