Sadar Police Arrest 19 Year Old Web Designer and Minor for Stealing Laptops, Cash Worth Rs 1.80 Lakh in Nagpur

Sadar police arrested a 19 year old web designer and his minor accomplice for stealing laptops and cash worth Rs 1.80 lakh in Nagpur to fund online gaming.

Nagpur, India: In a quick operation, Sadar police arrested a 19 Year Old web design student and his underage partner within 48 hours of their alleged burglary at a computer store on Residency Road, Sadar.

The duo is accused of stealing five laptops, a hard drive, and cash worth Rs 1.80 lakh to support their online gaming habits.

The prime accused has been identified as Piyush, also known as Sudarshan Agar Dongre (19), who resides in Snehdeep Colony near Nara Ghat. His accomplice, a minor, had previously been caught by Jaripatka police in a separate theft case but was let go with a warning due to his age.

Police report that the burglary took place between 3:00 am and 3:30 am on January 29 at SnapShot computer shop, owned by 26-year-old Ajay Mangtani from Priti Society, Shambhu Nagar. 

The shop is situated across from Orient Hotel on Residency Road. Investigators found that Dongre had checked out the shop earlier to learn about its contents.

The crime was caught on CCTV, which helped the police track down the suspects. Sadar police inspector Manish Thakre formed a special team to solve the case. 

While Dongre's identity was hard to trace at first, the minor accomplice was recognized from previous records and brought in for questioning. 

The police successfully recovered the stolen laptops, hard drives, and the vehicle used in the crime. 

The operation was led by Thakre and police inspector Manisha Kashid, with significant support from API Sandeep Jadhav, PSI Nilesh Ghogre, ASI Riyaz Mulani, and other officers.  

Additional investigations are ongoing.
