The "Seven Wonders" project at Crazy Castle has sparked controversy by ignoring regulations that prohibit construction within 30 meters of the lake. Lacking the necessary permissions, the project is now being dismantled by authorities. MLA Vikas Thackeray has demanded that the government recoup the wasted funds from Maha Metro officials.
In March 2018, the Maharashtra government's Water Resources Department imposed a ban on development within a 30-meter radius of designated lake boundaries. Despite this ban, the "Seven Wonders" project began construction in this restricted area. Maha Metro officials, who were aware of the ban since the start of metro railway corridor construction in 2018, proceeded with the project regardless. Now, there are calls for those responsible to repay the costs of this unauthorized venture.
