Nagpur, India: On Sunday, the Social Security Branch (SSB) of the City Police conducted a raid on a brothel in the Nandanvan area, rescuing two minor girls who had been forced into the sex trade by pimps. The police also arrested a woman, Aishwarya alias Ashu Gajanan Raut, for operating the illegal sex racket.
Aishwarya, 21, is a resident of Plot No. 123, Maitri Vihar Nagar, behind Shiv Shankar Lawns, Kharbi Ring Road. Crime Branch officers had received a tip-off that Aishwarya was running a sex racket from her home, where she was allegedly providing minor girls to clients in exchange for large sums of money.
Acting on this information, the SSB sent a decoy customer to Aishwarya’s residence. After paying for her services, the decoy was given a teenage girl. This confirmed the illegal activities, prompting the decoy to alert the SSB officers.
The SSB team, led by PI Lalita Todase and supported by constables Sachin Badhiye, Laxman Chaure, Ajay Paunikar, Sheshrao Raut, Samir Shaikh, Ashwin Mange, Nitin Wasne, Kamlesh Kshirsagar, Lata Gavai, and Aarti Chavan, conducted the raid. They caught Aishwarya in the act and rescued the two girls.
A case has been registered against Aishwarya Raut under Sections 143(4) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, and Sections 4, 5, and 7 of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act. The possibility of additional pimps being involved in the racket is being investigated.
The raid was supervised by DCP (Detection) Rahul Maknikar and AC (Crime) Dr. Abhijeet Patil.
