Nagpur: In a distressing and shameful incident, an elderly couple from Nagpur has been allegedly deceived by their 39-year-old son, who fraudulently sold their home and property. This unscrupulous act has forced the parents, Meena and Muralidhar Nipane, to live in an old age home, as revealed by the police on Sunday.
The accused, Abhijit Nipane, orchestrated an elaborate scheme to sell two plots in Mouza Gorewada for Rs 60 lakh each, even enlisting a woman to pose as his mother during the transactions. In addition to this, he illegally seized the family's residence in the Zingabai Takli area.
Officials reported that the incident unfolded when Meena Nipane, a 70-year-old retired health department official, and her husband Muralidhar, relocated to their younger son Aniket’s residence in Goa during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Seizing the opportunity of their absence, Abhijit conspired with others to execute the fraudulent sale of the properties. When the elderly couple returned to Nagpur on March 12, 2024, they were shockingly denied entry into their own home by Abhijit. It was then discovered that he had not only sold their property but also manipulated legal documents, including a forged Aadhaar card.
The distressed couple promptly lodged a complaint with the Mankapur police, leading to the registration of a case against Abhijit and his accomplices under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), including fraud.
