Sonegaon Police Arrest Long-Time Wanted Man in Consumer Complaint Case
Sonegaon Police arrest Suresh Burrewar, wanted in over 150 consumer complaint cases, after 10 years of evasion.

Nagpur, India- The Sonegaon Police recently arrested Suresh Kondbaji Burrewar, a 54-year-old resident of Cosmopolitan Society, Sonegaon, Nagpur. Burrewar had been wanted for over 150 cases related to consumer complaints that were pending before the Maharashtra State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and the Additional District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Nagpur. He had been avoiding court appearances for the last 10 years.
Following a notice from the commission, the Sonegaon Police were ordered to find Burrewar. Despite initial difficulties, the police formed a special team to locate him. The team gathered information about his vehicle and tracked his movements through his mobile phone.
On July 28, 2024, they discovered that Burrewar was heading towards Nagpur. The team set up a checkpoint on Wardha Road at Shivangaon Phata and stopped a vehicle that matched the description. After confirming his identity, they arrested him. Burrewar was then taken to the commission, which sent him to Nagpur Central Jail.
This successful operation was led by senior police officers, including the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) and the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Sonegaon Division). The team consisted of several officers and constables from the Sonegaon Police Station.
