Nagpur, India- Starting next year, the southern part of Nagpur will have access to piped CNG for cooking. The gas pipeline being laid by the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) is expected to reach Shivmadka, near the Samruddhi Expressway, from Mumbai between October and December this year.
HCG Nagpur, a subsidiary of Haryana City Gas, has been given the contract to distribute compressed natural gas (CNG) in the district. They plan to extend the main distribution pipeline to Chinchbhuvan by March 2025. HCG Nagpur is already building its network to cover the entire city and will start commercial operations as soon as the main pipeline arrives.
