The commencement of the Undergraduate course admissions process at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) has encountered a setback due to technical glitches that hindered students from accessing the university's website for registration. The delay has prompted officials to address the issue promptly to ensure a smooth admission procedure for aspiring students.

The College Section of RTMNU is overseeing the admission process, which specifically caters to non-professional Undergraduate courses, excluding disciplines such as engineering, management, and architecture. Dr. Raman Madne, Deputy Registrar of the College Section, shed light on the admission procedure, emphasizing the importance of student registration on the university portal to obtain a unique identification number. This identification number will be crucial for students to present to their desired colleges during the admission process. Once students submit the necessary documents, the colleges will carefully evaluate the applications and subsequently publish a merit list. Admission will then be granted to students based on their merit number.

Although the precise number of participating colleges remains uncertain due to ongoing approval, affiliation, and de-affiliation processes, it is estimated that over 300 colleges will be part of the admission process. These colleges predominantly offer courses in Science, Commerce, and Arts, providing a diverse range of educational opportunities for students.

The HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) and CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) Class XII results have already been announced, and approximately 2 lakh students from the Nagpur region have successfully cleared the examinations. Out of this figure, around 1.4 lakh students fall under the purview of RTMNU, while the remaining students from Chandrapur and Gadchiroli colleges are affiliated with Gondwana University.

As the technical glitches are being addressed, the authorities at RTMNU are working diligently to ensure that the admission process begins without further delays. Prospective students are advised to stay updated with the university's announcements regarding the commencement of the registration process, which is now anticipated to begin by June 15, 2023.
