Nagpur, India: In a shocking incident, an 18-year-old was robbed of ₹2.30 lakh by his own acquaintances, including four minors, near Shrikrishna Nagar Chowk. However, the accused were quickly caught within hours, thanks to the quick action of the crime branch.
According to the police, the victim, Faraz Khan Azhar Khan, had gone to Kalamna with a friend to collect money on behalf of his uncle.
While returning, Faraz and his friend were stopped near Shrikrishna Nagar Chowk by a group of six robbers, who forcefully grabbed the cash from Faraz and fled the scene.
Investigations revealed that Faraz's teenage friend was involved in the robbery plan and had deliberately asked him to stop for cold drinks near Bada Tajbagh. This gave the gang the opportunity to carry out the robbery, with one of the accused escaping with the cash.
Under the direction of ACP Abhijeet Patil and Senior Inspector Kamlakar Gaddime, the crime branch launched an investigation and quickly focused on Faraz's friend. During questioning, he revealed crucial details about the other individuals involved in the robbery. The crime branch team, led by DCP Rahul Maknikar, subsequently arrested Abdul Samar, Rizwan Khan, and three minors. However, Sahil, a resident of Amravati, is still at run with the stolen money, and efforts are underway to apprehend him.
