Addressing the legislative assembly on Monday, Vikas Thakre, the MLA representing West Nagpur, brought attention to the distressing state of roads in Nagpur City. He suggested the state government by allowing special funds to facilitate the much-needed repairs.

Furthermore, Thakre raised concerns about the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) showing leniency towards two contaminated garbage operator agencies, namely BVG India and AG Enviro, owing to political influence. During the discussions on the supplementary budget, he highlighted that except for the Civil Lines area, where important courts and high-profile offices are situated, roads in all six assembly constituencies of Nagpur were in appalling condition. Thakre expressed his frustration, likening the experience of commuting on Nagpur roads to that of being in a remote village.

Demanding appropriate action against the garbage operators, Thakre insisted on filing an FIR against them. He pointed out that nearly 18 months ago, the NMC's general body had passed a resolution to terminate the contracts of these operators, yet the civic administration had not taken any action so far
