People who are older often worry about hormonal imbalance. However, the body can regain its hormonal balance with the appropriate food and lifestyle choices. Nutritionist Jess Bippen listed seven strategies to reestablish hormonal balance.

"These are the seven main factors that impact your hormonal health, and they can all be grouped into three areas of focus – nourishment, stress resilience, and detoxification," Bippen wrote.

1. Hormonal imbalances can happen when specific endocrine system glands are overworked and overwhelmed. The glands may become overworked as a result of poor food, bad lifestyle choices, and chronic stress.

2. Our hormone levels can be significantly impacted by emotional stress and trauma. Chronic stress can result from unresolved emotions.

3. For the synthesis and control of hormones, vitamins and minerals are necessary. Hormone imbalance in the body may also result from a deficiency in certain nutrients.

4. Unbalances in the microbiota of the gut can cause inflammation, interfere with hormone communication, and reduce the absorption of nutrients.

5. The liver is essential to the body's detoxification and hormone metabolism. Hormonal abnormalities may arise from an overloaded liver.

6. Blood sugar dysregulation has a direct effect on cortisol and insulin levels. Adrenal exhaustion and insulin resistance may also result from it.

7. An adequate night's sleep is crucial for the proper control of hormones. Lack of sleep can throw off the body's circadian cycle.
