The SC grants Ex-Minister, Nawab Malik, bail for 2 months

Former Maharashtra minister and leader of the Nationalist Congress Party Nawab Malik has been given a two-month bail by the Supreme Court. Bail has been granted on the grounds of good health.

The Supreme Court has granted bail for Nawab Malik, a former minister for Maharashtra and head of the Nationalist Congress Party, for two months. On the basis of health, the bail has been granted.

In prison since February 2022, Nawab Malik. After the Bombay High Court denied Malik's bail request, he petitioned the Supreme Court. On Friday, the Supreme Court heard Malik's petition. The court's decision to give him bail was not challenged by the Enforcement Directorate. Malik was granted bail by a court panel that included Justices Aniruddha Bose and Bela M. Triveri.

The Enforcement Directorate detained Malik in connection with a money laundering investigation. In addition, he is accused of engaging in unlawful land transactions and having ties to organized crime. Malik's name came up when Iqbal Kaskar was questioned. The 23rd of February 2022 saw his arrest. When Malik was in prison, ED conducted numerous raids in this regard.

When he was detained, Malik was a minister in the Maha-Vikas Aghadi government of Maharashtra. Even after his arrest and major offense charges were brought against him, the MVA administration did not remove him from his ministry.
