In a sudden turn of events in the last week of November, the atmosphere shifted with dark clouds looming and light rain showers. This led to a significant 5.6-degree Celsius drop in daytime temperature, recording it at 24.2 degrees C in the city on Monday. Citizens experienced a pleasantly cool atmosphere throughout the day.

The India Meteorological Department attributes this abrupt change to the formation of a cyclonic circulation over north West Bengal and central parts of Madhya Pradesh, coupled with a western disturbance and cyclonic circulation over the Southwest Arabian Sea. Several other districts also witnessed rainfall on Monday.

Tuesday brought unexpected morning showers, accompanied by a further decrease in temperatures. The preceding day had been marked by persistent cloud cover and a hazy atmosphere, setting the stage for the delightful surprise.

The Meteorological Office had hinted at the possibility of precipitation, and nature delivered as forecasted. Thunderstorms with lightning showers are anticipated at isolated places around Nagpur, according to the IMD website.

As the city embraced the rainfall, locals shared their excitement on social media, capturing scenes of the unexpected weather. Commuters navigated through wet streets.

The noticeable temperature drop was evident as the mercury dipped by one degree, bringing the minimum temperature to 17 degrees.
