Thieves steal ₹5.72 lakh worth of jewellery from Nagpur during Laxmi Pujan

Thieves stole ₹5.72 lakh worth of jewellery from a house in Nagpur during Laxmi Pujan after the front door was left open.

Nagpur, India: Leaving the doors open on the second day of Laxmi Pujan had serious consequences for a family, as thieves stole jewellery valued at ₹5.72 lakh from their home. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Kotwali police station on November 1.

Jayesh Diwakar Ghime, 37, from Udoji Galli, Gayatri Plaza, conducted a Laxmi puja at his home. The following morning, while Jayesh’s father was out for a morning walk, he left the entrance door of the house open.

The thieves exploited the unlocked house to steal gold jewellery valued at ₹5.72 lakh, which was intended for Laxmi Puja. Jayesh filed a complaint, leading to a case being registered at the Kotwali police station.
