Their residence near Jagannath Swami Mandir had remained locked since February 26th of this year. The intrusion came to light when a neighbour noticed the door opened and alerted Hedau, the victim. Rushing from Badlapur, Hedau found the door latch broken upon arrival.
Upon inspecting the home, Hedau was alarmed to discover that a bag containing Rs 3,10,400 in cash had been stolen from a box-type wooden diwan. Waste no time, he alerted the authorities, prompting a visit from the Lakadganj Police Station personnel.
Hedau reported that the stolen cash comprised a collection of new currency notes in denominations of Rs 5, Rs 10, Rs 20, Rs 100, Rs 200, and Rs 500. The burglary occurred on the night bridging Saturday and Sunday.
