The Vidarbha region of Maharashtra has been grappling with devastating heavy rains, causing havoc in Nagpur division. Since July 13, at least 11 people have lost their lives due to floods and lightning strikes. The inclement weather has also left more than 1,600 houses damaged in the affected areas, leaving many families displaced and in distress.

As per a preliminary report released by local authorities, the heavy rains have wreaked havoc on agriculture in the region, with 875.84 hectares of farmland adversely affected. The Nagpur division, encompassing Nagpur, Wardha, Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli districts, is facing the brunt of the natural calamity.

The entire Vidarbha region, comprising 11 districts including Nagpur, has been experiencing incessant rainfall for the past few days. The downpour has caused widespread destruction, and the authorities are closely monitoring the situation to provide necessary relief and support to the affected communities.
