Nagpur, India: A tragic accident on the Umred-Nagpur Highway near Kuhi Fata claimed the life of a truck driver and left another critically injured on Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred when a truck traveling from Brahmapuri Wadsa to Nagpur Kapasi via Umred stalled on the road due to a lack of diesel. The driver, Nandkishor Rambhauji Savarkar, had stepped out to refuel and release air from the pump.

While Savarkar was working on his truck, another truck, driven by Bahadur Dhaneshwar Yadav, approached at high speed from Nagpur and crashed into the stationary vehicle from behind. The impact caused severe injuries to Savarkar’s head, chest, and neck.

Local police arrived swiftly and transported Savarkar to Nagpur Medical College, where he was pronounced dead by doctors.

The second truck overturned at the accident site, leaving its driver, Bahadur Yadav, seriously injured. He was taken to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident and have urged drivers to exercise caution on highways to prevent such incidents.
