A 19-year-old youth from Akola drowned at the Dhodani waterfall in Patur on Saturday afternoon. Dhodani waterfall, located in Patur tehsil, is a popular tourist spot. On that day, a group of youths from Akola visited the waterfall and decided to take a dip in its waters. Among them was Nikhil Nandu Pakhere, a resident of Akola, who also entered the water.

After some time, the others noticed that Nikhil had not resurfaced. Despite searching for him, they were unable to find him. Patur Police were notified, and a search operation was launched. With the help of local residents, the police eventually discovered Nikhil's body and retrieved it from the water. The body was then sent to the District General Hospital for a postmortem examination. Patur police have registered the incident as an accidental death.
