Tragic SUV Crash Claims Lives of Couple, Injures Eight on Pusad-Washim Road

An overloaded SUV crashed into a tree in Yavatmal, killing a couple and injuring several others. The driver lost control due to drowsiness.

Vidarbha, Yavatmal, India: A tragic accident occurred when an overloaded SUV crashed into a tree, killing a couple and leaving others severely injured. The driver, reportedly drowsy, was unable to maintain control of the vehicle.

 

The incident occurred at around 6:30 am on October 7 at Sattarmal Ghat on the Pusad-Washim road. The victims were traveling from Ahmednagar to Mahur, heading to visit the Renuka Mata temple.

 

The victims have been identified as Manisha Baban Guldagad (50) and Baban Kisan Guldagad (55), both residents of Rahuri in Ahmednagar district, who lost their lives in the accident. The injured include the driver, Mukund Dattatray Lande (49), and passengers Mayur Suresh Rokole (25), Sagar Shalahari Sarode (25), Kiran Bhairav Borude (30), Sarika Gorakh Sudke (40), Manda Babu Gadkal (50), Sarthak Santosh Borude (13), and Santosh Laxman Borude (40), all of whom are from Rahuri in Ahmednagar district.

 

According to reports, ten devotees from Ahmednagar were traveling to Mahur for Renukadevi’s darshan in a four-wheeler (MH-16/AJ-6010).

 

The driver, feeling drowsy, lost control of the vehicle while passing through Sattarmal Ghat on the way to Pusad via Washim. The SUV crashed into a teak tree along the roadside. The impact was so severe that two people died instantly, and eight others, including the driver, sustained serious injuries. The vehicle was completely wrecked in the violent collision.

 

The injured had to wait a long time for help. The postmortems of the deceased were conducted in Pusad. A case has been registered against the driver, Mukund Lande, a resident of Sudkemala in Ahmednagar district, at Khandala police station. Further investigation is being conducted by police station officer Devidas Patil.
