In the most recent ICC T20 rankings, Australia's opener Travis Head dethroned India's Suryakumar Yadav as the top batsman on June 26.
Suryakumar had been ranked first since December 2023, but Head shot to prominence at the T20 World Cup despite his team's elimination.
Head finished with two half century and 255 runs, including 76 against India in a Super Eight match.
The Australian has two more points than Suryakumar (842 points), who fell to second place. He does, however, still have an opportunity to take the top spot since India's World T20 Cup campaign is still in the running.
Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah shot up to 24th place with a staggering 44-place leap, and spinner Kuldeep Yadav shot up to 11th place, barely outside the top-10. Axar Patel, an all-round spin specialist who is now ranked eighth, is still the top Indian bowler.
Adil Rashid of England is still ranked #1 in the bowling rankings, but Rashid Khan has risen to the second rank following his heroics in the T20 World Cup. Josh Hazlewood has moved up three spots to fourth place, trailing Hasaranga.
