Nagpur, India: A tragic accident occurred on the evening of January 17, 2025, near the Tarodi Bridge on the Jabalpur-Hyderabad Bypass Highway under the jurisdiction of Pardi Police Station. The incident happened when a collision between a speeding truck and an Activa scooter, resulted in one fatality and left another seriously injured.

The Activa, driven by 44-year-old Vasantrao Regne, was carrying his friend Harish Bhimrao Gajbhiye, aged 42. The two were returning from a visit to Shankarpat in Mangli village when the truck, driven by 26-year-old Khushal Dadaji Darwe, collided with the rear of their scooter. 

Both Regne and Gajbhiye suffered severe injuries. They were rushed to Bhavani Hospital in Pardi, where Gajbhiye was transferred to a medical facility due to the severity of his head injury. Unfortunately, he was declared dead by doctors. Regne sustained fractures to both his legs and is currently receiving treatment.

Following a statement given by the complainant at the hospital, Pardi Police registered a case against truck driver Khushal Darwe. He faces charges under sections 106(1), 281, 125A, and 125B of the Indian Penal Code, along with sections 134, 184, 185, and 177 related to driving violations. Police are continuing their investigation into the accident.
