Truck Driver Booked for Fatal Accident on Ajni Flyover
Nagpur police register a case against a truck driver for negligent parking on Ajni flyover, leading to a fatal accident that claimed the life of a 38-year-old man.

Nagpur, India: A fatal accident on the Ajni flyover connecting Ajni Chowk to the airport in Nagpur claimed the life of a 38-year-old man on November 19, 2024. The mishap occurred between 10:15 AM and 10:30 AM when a car collided with a negligently parked truck.
The victim, Mohammad Farooq Mohammad Haroon, a resident of Yerkheda Road, Islampura, Bunkar Colony, New Kamptee, was driving his Setro car (MH-31-SM-3279) when it crashed into an Eicher truck (MH-40-Y-0698). The truck, loaded with goods, was left stationary on the flyover without any traffic warnings or signs by its driver, Vinod Sanjayrao Naik (35), a resident of Pulgaon, Deoli, Wardha.
The collision left Farooq critically injured. He was rushed to AIIMS Hospital but was declared dead during treatment.
Following a complaint by Mujammil Ashraf Mohd. Ashfaque (25), a resident of Kamgar Nagar, New Kamptee, the Dhantoli Police registered a case against the truck driver under Sections 304(1) and 279 of the Indian Penal Code. Assistant Police Inspector Sonune is heading the investigation, and further inquiries are ongoing.
