The crime branch has arrested two individuals who stole a Swift Dzire valued at 7.50 lakhs after drugging the cab driver. The culprits are identified as Kanakurthi Poorna Chandrarao Kesavaya, from Cyberabad, and Pushpareddy Karthik Sarkeswarrao, from Hyderabad. The victim, Rahul Sharma, hails from Pardi in Nagpur.

On January 19, the accused booked a cab heading to Telangana. Before departure, they convinced the cab driver, Sharma, to join them for drinks at Sangram Bar. Taking advantage of Sharma's intoxicated state, the accused stole his phone and made off with his cab.

The Kotwali Police filed a case against the perpetrators. Subsequently, Unit 3 of the crime branch initiated a technical investigation, utilizing CCTV footage to track the accused across two states. The stolen vehicle was recovered from the culprits.
