Two Killed, One Injured in Car Fire on Samruddhi Expressway

Two killed, one injured as car catches fire after crashing on Samruddhi Expressway. Another accident in Bhandara kills two, injures three.

Buldhana, Vidarbha: Two men lost their lives, and one person was injured after their car crashed and caught fire on the Samruddhi Expressway on Thursday morning. The accident happened around 9 AM near the Dusarbid toll plaza.

The victims, Ganesh Subhash Tekale (40) and Raju Mahantlal Jaiswal (32), were from Mumbai and were travelling to Akola to visit relatives. The driver, Abhijeet Arjun Chavan (35), lost control of the speeding car and hit a road barrier. The crash was so strong that the car (MH-04/LB-3109) immediately caught fire.

Chavan managed to escape, but Tekale and Jaiswal were trapped inside and died on the spot. Chavan was seriously injured and is being treated at Bibi Rural Hospital.

Police and emergency teams reached the spot quickly. The bodies of the deceased were sent to Rural Hospital Sindkhed Raja for post-mortem. Traffic was blocked for a short time but was cleared with the help of a crane. Authorities are investigating the accident.

Another Road Accident in Bhandara Kills Two, Injures Three

Palandur: In another accident, two workers died, and three others were seriously injured when a truck crashed into a car in Lakhni tehsil, Bhandara district, around noon on Thursday.

The deceased were Pradeep Pramod Bain (43) from Ashti, Gadchiroli, and Pramod Rishi Pustode (42) from Mahagaon, Arjuni Mor in Gondia. The injured, Kalidas B Pandhare (36), Dilip Duryodhan Bankar (28), and Nishant Meshram (21), all from Arjuni Mor, were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police are investigating both accidents.
