Two leopards were found dead in Gondia: one was killed by a tiger in Bodara, and the other died in a road accident near Majjitpur.

Gondia, India: Two leopards were found dead in separate incidents on Tuesday. One leopard was killed by a tiger in the village of Bodara in Gondia district, while the other one became a victim of a road mishap near Murtijapur.
According to information, a carcass of male leopard was found in Survey No. 70/1 (revenue land) village Bodara in Mor Arjuni range (beat-Bodara) on Tuesday morning at 11.30 am.
When the team of the forest department started inspecting the carcass in the nearby areas, injury marks due to tiger attacks were observed on the carcass. Tiger pug marks were also noticed by forest staffers near the carcass.
The carcass was incinerated at Mor Arjuni depot after postmortem by LDO Mor/Arjuni in the presence of Deputy Conservator of Forest, Gondia, ACF Nawegaon, Naib Tahsildar Mor/Arjuni, Shree Mukund Dhurve, HWLW Gondia, and Field officers/staff in the Mor/Arjuni range.
In another incident,
Leopard was found dead by a roadside in the Gondia range on the 30th September night near Majjitpur village on the Gondia-Tirora road. The carcass was found when a rescue team along with RFO Gondia visited the spot. The carcass was taken to Kudwa Park, Gondia, for postmortem.
The postmortem was conducted on Tuesday at Kudwa Park by a team of veterinary doctors in the presence of DCF, Gondia, DFO Wildlife NNTR, ACF Gondia, RFO Gondia, Sawan Bahekar HWLW Gondia, Rupesh Nimbarte from the local NGO, and field staff of the Gondia range.
The carcass was incinerated after postmortem in the presence of the team engaged in postmortem.
