Two Youths Killed, Two Injured in Car-Truck Collision Near Katol

In a tragic road accident near Katol in Nagpur district on Sunday morning, two youths lost their lives, and two others sustained serious injuries when their car collided with an Eicher truck.

The deceased are Sopan Korde (25), son of the late Nitin Korde, a former Chandur Bazar Civic Chief, and Vrushabh Gawande. The injured, Ajinkya Wakode and Shubham Khond are also residents of Chandur Bazar.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday. The four friends were travelling from Chandur Bazar to Nagpur in a Thar car to attend a wedding ceremony. Near Katol, their car collided with an Eicher truck under circumstances yet to be confirmed.

Sopan Korde and Vrushabh Gawande were killed on the spot, wh. At the same time, Wakode and Shubham Khond sustained severe injuries and were rushed to Wockhardt Hospital in Nagpur, where they are currently undergoing treatment.

The accident has plunged Chandur Bazar into grief, especially the Korde family, as Sopan was the only son of late Nitin Korde, who passed away two years ago.

Upon hearing the news, family members and friends rushed to the accident site and the hospital. Former MLA Bachchu Kadu also visited the hospital to inquire about the condition of the injured youths and offer condolences to the grieving families.

Local authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collision. The stretch of road where the accident occurred is known for heavy traffic during early hours, and officials are examining the role of overspeeding or negligence in the crash.

This tragic accident has left the community in shock and mourning, as families and friends grapple with the sudden and devastating loss.
