The unexpected showers that came with April lasted throughout Friday. Following Thursday's heavy rains, the city was greeted on Friday morning by more monsoon-like rainfall. Thunder and lightning erupted, greeting early risers with a coating of moderate to heavy rain that left the roadways chilly and slippery.

Vidarbha, Central Maharashtra, and Marathwada could experience significant rain in the coming day. The districts of Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, and Gondia are under an orange alert. In Bid, Latur, Dharashiv, Sangli, Parbhani, Yavatmal, Washim, Sambhaji Nagar, and Solapur, thunderstorms and showers are probable.  There is a yellow alert in effect for these districts.

On Friday, the temperature in Vidarbha stayed below average. The greatest temperature, 30.4 degrees Celsius, was recorded in Nagpur. At 35.8 degrees Celsius, Akola had the highest maximum temperature in the area.
