Vidarbha, Bhandara, India: The administration has urged citizens to exercise caution, as the cyber cell of the Media Certification & Monitoring Committee (MCMC) is closely monitoring all social media accounts. Strict action will be taken against accounts that share false information or objectionable content during the upcoming State Assembly elections.
Social media is accessible to everyone and should be used responsibly. It has the capability to rapidly disseminate false information. As a result, it is essential for all users to adhere to the appropriate code of conduct when engaging on any social media platform.
Assistant Police Inspector Pramod Shinde, the head of social media at MCMC, has urged group administrators to exercise particular caution in this matter.
Serious offenses may be reported for spreading rumors, inciting conflict between castes, making threatening or fear-inducing posts, and posting advertisements without authorization on social media.
All candidates must register their official social media accounts with the Election Commission. Do not breach the Model Code of Conduct during the election period. Refrain from posting propaganda related to communal and caste issues. The Election Commission has advised against the spread of false information.
