Vidarbha Set to Gain 13,500 Jobs with Rs 39,000 Crore Investment in New Project

Vidarbha, Maharashtra- To create more regional jobs, a Maharashtra Government cabinet sub-committee approved Rs 39,000 crore in investment for Vidarbha on Tuesday. The investments will fund new projects in solar energy, electric vehicle batteries, and a liquor plant, which are expected to generate 13,500 jobs. The meeting was led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, and Industries Minister Uday Samant. With plenty of land, power, and skilled workers, Nagpur is well-suited for these investments.
The biggest project is from AWAADA Electro Ltd, which plans to invest Rs 13,647 crore to build a plant in Butibori Industrial Estate. This plant will make solar panels and electrolyzers, providing 8,000 jobs. AWAADA is a key player in the semiconductor and solar energy fields and will produce silicon-based ingots, wafers, and cell modules.
JSW Energy’s PSP Eleven Ltd, part of the Jindal Group, will set up a Lithium-Ion Cell manufacturing plant in Nagpur. The plant, with a capacity of 50 GWh and an investment of Rs 25,000 crore, will create 5,000 jobs and use advanced technology to produce electric vehicle batteries.
The final investment is from Pernod Ricard India Pvt Ltd, which will build a malt spirit production plant in Butibori Industrial Estate. With an investment of Rs 1,785 crore, this plant will create 800 jobs and produce single malt whisky. It may also attract tourists with potential tours and tastings.
