Vishnu Manohar to Receive Vidarbha Gaurav Puraskar on December 1, 2024

Renowned chef Vishnu Manohar will receive the Vidarbha Gaurav Puraskar on December 1, 2024, for his outstanding contributions to the culinary arts and nutrition. The award ceremony, featuring Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, will celebrate his achievements, including 25 world records.

Nagpur, India: Renowned chef and culinary innovator Vishnu Manohar will be honored with the prestigious Vidarbha Gaurav Puraskar, an award instituted by the Krishi Vikas Pratishthan in memory of Maniklal Gandhi. This year marks the 25th edition of the award, recognizing individuals for their remarkable contributions to society.

Manohar is a household name in the culinary world, with 25 world records to his credit, including crafting India’s longest dosa and hosting unique cooking marathons. His dedication has brought international recognition to Vidarbha’s rich culinary traditions, elevating the region’s gastronomic profile.

In addition to his culinary achievements, Manohar plays a key role in promoting nutrition and food security as the president of the Maharashtra State Poshan Ahar Samiti and as a member of the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman Board, New Delhi.

The award, which includes a cash prize of ₹1 lakh, a shawl, a shriphal, and a memento, will be presented by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari at a ceremony on December 1. The event will be held at 7 PM at the Institution of Engineers Hall, North Ambazari Road, Nagpur. The program will be presided over by Padma Shri Dr. Chandrashekhar Meshram, with senior journalist Ashok Wankhede as the chief guest.

Advocate Nishant Gandhi, representing the Krishi Vikas Pratishthan, highlighted the legacy of the Vidarbha Gaurav Puraskar, which has honored stalwarts such as Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, late Communist leader AB Bardhan, poet Grace, and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in the past.

Expressing his gratitude, Vishnu Manohar said, “I am deeply humbled by this recognition. This honor belongs to the people of Vidarbha, whose unwavering support and encouragement have fueled my journey. Every milestone I’ve achieved has been possible because of their love and blessings.”
