Water Supply to Several Nagpur Areas Affected by NMC Pipeline Project
NMC has announced a 24-hour shutdown starting from 10 am on June 22 until 10 am on June 23.

Nagpur, India- The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will conduct a 24-hour shutdown from 10 am on June 22 to 10 am on June 23 to complete interconnection work for a newly laid 300 mm diameter DI pipeline. This new pipeline will be connected to the existing one at Prajapati Square.
The shutdown will affect the Bharatwada ESR command area in the Lakadganj Zone. The tasks scheduled for this period include:
Mating of 300 mm x 300 mm DI pipelines, Interconnection of two 300 mm x 200 mm pipelines, Interconnection of a 300 mm x 250 mm pipeline
This project will be carried out by GDCL, a contractor for the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), who has relocated the pipeline to accommodate the construction of a 4-lane flyover at Deshpande Layout, near Haldiram Bungalow, Prajapati Square, CA Road.
As a result, the following areas will experience a water supply interruption:

- Prajapati Nagar
- Nehru Nagar
- Shailesh Nagar
- Trimurty Nagar
- Kamakshi Nagar
- Sadashiv Nagar
- Ghar Sansar Society
- Salasar Vihar
- Wathoda Juni Wasti
- Hiwri Kota
- Malgade Layout
- Kawre Layout
- Maa Sharda Nagar
- New Suraj Nagar
- Devi Nagar
- Sonaba Nagar
- Ved Bhumi Umiya Colony
Residents in the affected areas are advised to make temporary water storage arrangements in advance to mitigate any inconvenience caused by the water supply interruption, according to a release issued by OCW.
