Wathoda Police Investigate ₹1.92 Lakh Burglary in Nagpur

Wathoda Police investigate a burglary where ₹1.92 lakh worth of gold and cash were stolen from a house in Nagpur.

Nagpur, India: A burglary was reported in Wathoda, where an unidentified thief stole gold jewellery and cash worth ₹1.92 lakh from a house in Ramkrishna Nagar, Dighori.

The incident occurred between July 30, 2024, and August 9, 2024, while the homeowner, 66-year-old Bhimrao Parasram Naik, was away in Pune visiting his son. Naik had locked his house before leaving, but upon his return on August 12, he discovered that the main door's lock had been broken. The burglar had entered the house and taken valuables, including gold jewellery and ₹2,000 in cash from a wooden cupboard.

Naik immediately reported the theft to the Wathoda Police Station. Police Sub-Inspector Thakre has registered a case under Sections 454, 457, and 380 of the Indian Penal Code. An investigation is currently underway to identify and apprehend the culprit.
