A 36-year-old Nagpur resident has accused a guy of stealing her private images and videos, then using his identity as an Indian Air Force official to demand approximately Rs 4 lakh from her.
The police on Sunday filed a case against accused Shyam Supatkar under the Indian Penal Code for rape, extortion, and several other offenses in response to the woman's allegation.
The accused, who had falsely constructed a Facebook profile under the name Shyam Verma, was introduced to the woman by the police around four years prior. The accused stated that he was a Nagpur-based Indian Air Force official who was stationed in Gujarat. Eventually, they both agreed to meet.
Supatkar is accused of giving her a drink laced with sedatives during the meeting, rendering her comatose. She claimed that he then took personal pictures and videos of her. According to the Ajni police station officer, Supatkar allegedly threatened to post images and videos on social media if she didn't comply with his requests.
The woman claimed that the accused had stolen some gold and silver jewelry from her along with Rs 4 lakh in cash. He added that Supatkar had not yet been taken into custody and that the woman had come to the police after discovering that the man was not an Air Force personnel.
