A grim discovery turned into a case of murder as investigations by Jaripatka Police unveiled the tragic fate of a 34-year-old woman found hanging from a tree in the Jaripatka area earlier this month. Nitu, a mother of two daughters, was brutally killed by her live-in partner Gangadhar Arjun Gharde (48) on March 2nd, who suspected her of having illicit relations with another man.
The shocking revelation emerged after thorough scrutiny by law enforcement, which exposed Gharde's heinous act of strangulating Nitu to death. To mask his crime, Gharde callously hanged her lifeless body from a tree within their residential premises, attempting to stage it as a suicide. In a bid to mislead investigators, Gharde fabricated a tale alleging that Nitu succumbed to depression following her separation from her husband.
Initially, police registered the incident as an accidental death based on Gharde's deceptive narrative. However, suspicions arose when Nitu's relatives contradicted Gharde's account, revealing her intention to marry him after separating from her husband in 2017. Subsequent examination through a post-mortem report uncovered the gruesome truth: Nitu was not a victim of suicide but was brutally strangled to death. The report also indicated signs of struggle, suggesting a fierce altercation before her demise.
Swift action ensued as authorities apprehended Gharde upon receiving the autopsy report. During interrogation, Gharde confessed to the heinous crime, admitting to concocting the false suicide narrative to evade justice.
Gharde now faces charges under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code, as the community grapples with the harrowing reality of domestic violence and the tragic loss of Nitu's life. The incident serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of swift and thorough investigations to ensure justice prevails for victims of such atrocities.
