Worker Dies After Hand Gets Stuck in Chickpea Cutting Machine in Kamptee

Tragic accident in Kamptee: 25-year-old labourer Sahil Deshmukh dies after his hand gets stuck in a chickpea cutting machine. Police investigate the incident.

Kamptee, Nagpur: In a tragic accident, a 25-year-old labourer lost his life while working on a chickpea cutting machine in Kamptee tehsil. The deceased has been identified as Sahil Suraj Deshmukh, a resident of Bramhapuri in Chandrapur district.

The incident took place on a farm owned by Ashok Balaji Dhudas in Lihigaon, where the harvesting of chickpeas was underway. Sahil was feeding chickpeas into the cutting machine when he received a phone call from his father. While talking, his hand accidentally got caught in the machine, pulling him inside and causing fatal injuries.

Upon receiving information from the machine owner Arvind Sambre, police rushed to the spot. Sahil was found trapped inside the machine, and a gas cutter operator was called to free him. He was immediately taken to Upazila Hospital, Kamptee, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. His body was later sent for post-mortem.

Following a complaint filed by Manoj Bihari, a fellow labourer, Navin Kamptee police have launched an investigation into the incident. Authorities are looking into the circumstances that led to the accident to determine if any negligence was involved.
