Yashodhara Nagar Police Arrests Suspect for Selling Illegal Tobacco Products

Nagpur, India: Yashodhara Nagar Police conducted a raid based on reliable information obtained during their patrol. The raid targeted the residence of Sheikh Imran Sheikh Ramzan, aged 33, located at Plot No. 1578, Yogi Arvind Nagar, Ekta Maidan, Yashodhara Nagar, Nagpur.
During the raid, officers discovered and seized a total of 45 packets of chewing-flavored tobacco, each weighing 1 kilogram, with an estimated value of ₹27,000. The tobacco products were found to be illegal.
Based on a complaint lodged by Piyush Vasant Rao Manvatkar, a food safety officer from the Food and Drug Administration, an FIR was registered against the accused under various sections of the Food Safety and Standards Act. The suspect has been arrested, and further investigation is ongoing.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Senior Inspector Ramesh Khune and Senior Inspector Suhas Raut, with the support of Police Sub-Inspector Rahul Rathod, Constables Shyam Kadu, Rohit Ramteke, Narayan Kohchade, Amit Thakur, and Narendra Jambhulkar.
