The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Marathwada and central Maharashtra. This alert warns of possible moderate to heavy rainfall in several areas including Sholapur, Nanded, Latur, Osmanabad, Amravati, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, and Nagpur.

IMD experts also predict that some of these regions, like Chandrapur, may face heatwave-like conditions later in the week.

These weather changes are due to a trough forming above these areas, according to IMD officials.

Sushma Nair, a scientist from IMD Mumbai, mentioned that on Saturday, March 30, several places in Marathwada and central Maharashtra experienced rainfall, along with gusty winds and thunderstorms. However, this rainfall is expected to last only until March 31.

Meanwhile, Mumbai has been seeing daytime temperatures between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius. Nair advised that after April 5, temperatures may rise suddenly, causing discomfort.
