In the Vidarbha region of India, the weather is blazing hot with temperatures soaring above 40.0 degrees Celsius. The Regional Meteorological Department has issued yellow alerts for heat waves and warm nights in four districts for Friday and Saturday.
Yavatmal and Chandrapur may face heat wave conditions, while warm nights are expected in Yavatmal and Akola. Similar conditions are likely on Saturday, with Yavatmal and Akola facing heat waves and Wardha experiencing warm nights.
Temperatures have remained high for the past few days, ranging from 39.0 to 42.0 degrees Celsius, which is above normal. However, the minimum temperatures have stayed within the normal range, between 22.0 to 26.0 degrees Celsius. Most areas have seen temperatures exceeding 40.0 degrees Celsius since the beginning of the month, except for Buldhana and Gondia districts.
Chandrapur recorded the highest temperature at 42.6 degrees Celsius, closely followed by Yavatmal, Akola, Brahmapuri, and Wardha at 42.0 degrees Celsius each. Nagpur hit 41.3 degrees Celsius, marking the highest for the season. Even Amravati, Gadchiroli, and Gondia have experienced high temperatures.
But there might be some relief soon. The Regional Meteorological Center (RMC) has predicted unseasonal rains in isolated places in Nagpur, Gondia, Bhandara, Wardha, and Yavatmal districts on Monday and Tuesday. These rains could bring some respite from the scorching heat.
