Zero Mile Development Proposal Sent to State Government for Land Transfer to NMC

A proposal has been sent to the state government for the transfer of land to Nagpur Municipal Corporation to support the beautification and development of Zero Mile.

Nagpur, India: A proposal to develop Zero Mile has been put forward, with the state government allocating a budget for the project. However, the land required for this development has not yet been officially transferred. During a meeting held at the Nagpur Municipal Corporation on March 6, Dr. Anoop Kumar, Chairman of the Heritage Conservation Committee, instructed the District Collector's Office to send a proposal to the Government of Maharashtra. This proposal seeks the transfer of the land, which is currently under government control, to the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. The purpose of this transfer is to enable the beautification and development of the historic Zero Mile in Nagpur.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has received a proposal from the Indian Oil Corporation to contribute CSR funds for the beautification and development of the historic Zero Mile. Following this, a meeting of the Heritage Conservation Committee was held in the Commissioner's Room at the Municipal Corporation headquarters. The meeting, chaired by Dr. Anoop Kumar, Chairman of the Heritage Conservation Committee, was attended by Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary, District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar, Chief Engineer and Member Secretary of the Committee Mrs. Leena Upadhyay, General Manager of Indian Oil Corporation Atul Gupta, and Deputy General Manager Pradeep Paul.

Committee Chairman Dr. Anoop Kumar also instructed that all government land surrounding Zero Mile be made available for its beautification and development. A parking facility for tourists will be provided within the Municipal Corporation premises. The beautification of Zero Mile is being carried out by the Public Works Department with funding from the Government of Maharashtra. During the meeting, Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary mentioned that the funds received from the Indian Oil Corporation would be utilized to develop the adjacent land.
