15 Railway Stations in Nagpur Division Set for Hi-Tech Transformation

The Nagpur division of the Central Railway is undergoing a major transformation to improve passenger experiences and upgrade transportation infrastructure. As part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, 15 railway stations in the region will be modernized with cutting-edge technology and modern amenities. The government has committed Rs 372 crore to this ambitious project, highlighting its dedication to improving facilities within the railway sector.

On August 6, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will conduct a virtual Bhoomi Pujan ceremony to mark a momentous milestone in this transformative journey. This auspicious event is expected to usher in a new era of enhanced railway stations in the region. Tusharkant Pandey, the Divisional Railway Manager of Nagpur Division, expressed his enthusiasm for the impending inauguration, disclosing that the AMRUT Bharat scheme will be inaugurated through a video conferencing session.

The AMRUT Bharat scheme aims to develop 500 stations across various zones in the country, with Nagpur Division's 15 stations earmarked for comprehensive upliftment. The list of stations set for rejuvenation includes Chandrapur, Ballarpur, Narkhed, Amla, Godhani, Junnar Deo, Katol, Betul, Sevagram, Dhamangaon, Ghoradongri, Pulgaon, Multai, Pandhurna, and another station. This holistic approach to station redevelopment aims to rectify the deficiencies present in numerous railway stations throughout the Vidarbha region.

As part of the modernization drive, a wide range of facilities will be introduced or upgraded, including escalators, platform shelters, foot-over bridges, main gates, parking areas, lift-equipped toilets, waiting rooms, and exquisitely landscaped gardens. Some facilities are already undergoing implementation, while others are currently undergoing the tender process.
