1 dead, 18 Injured as Bus Heading to Maha Kumbh Collides with Stationary Truck

India: On February 19, one person died and 18 others were injured when a bus, en route to the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, crashed into a parked truck on the Chhattisgarh-Madhya Pradesh border, according to officials.
The incident occurred between 6 am and 7 am near Kahairjhiti village, after which police from Anuppur district in Madhya Pradesh and Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district in Chhattisgarh arrived at the scene.
The private bus, carrying devotees from Jagdalpur, the main town of Bastar district in Chhattisgarh, to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, collided with a stationary truck that had broken down and was parked on the roadside. The bus helper died in the crash, and 18 other passengers were injured, the police official stated.
