10-Year-Old Boy Escapes Kidnapping Attempt in Gondpura, Nagpur
Nagpur, India: A 10-year-old boy escaped a kidnapping attempt in the Bastarwari, Gondpura area under Shantinagar police jurisdiction on Tuesday evening, October 1. The boy, Shivam Nimbalkar, a fifth-grade student, showed bravery and quick thinking by biting one of the kidnappers and fleeing the scene, leaving the local community in shock.
Shivam had been returning home from his tuition class in Premnagar when the incident occurred. His father, Vilas Nimbalkar, an electrician, explained that Shivam usually attended tuition from 5 p.m. and returned by 7 p.m. However, on Tuesday, around 6:45 p.m., as Shivam was nearing his home, a Maxi e-rickshaw with four unidentified individuals—two women and two men, all with their faces covered—approached him.
One of the male suspects offered to drop Shivam home, but when the boy declined, saying his house was nearby, two of the men forcibly dragged him into the vehicle. Shivam bit the hand of one of the kidnappers and managed to escape. He immediately ran home and informed his mother about the terrifying incident.
The next day, on October 2, Vilas Nimbalkar filed a complaint at the Shantinagar police station. A case has been registered against the unknown assailants under Sections 137(2) and 62 of the BNS. Police have launched an investigation and are actively searching for the suspects involved in the attempted abduction.
